Back in November there was a thread started by 8pack titled "Real" Chrome Pen. References and a link to a paint pen called Liquid Chrome by Molowto were included in the Thread. Several people including myself, made positive comments about the product. I had good results with their 4mm pen when I used it to touch up some of my instrument cluster surround and dash vents. It was going for $13.00 on Amazon at the time.

BTW roeville, you must have a very steady hand. You did an outstanding job on your grill.

Good point. Liquid Chrome does have chrome shine to it. But It would probably lose some of its shine fairly quickly when used on something like a grill as Chuck71RS is asking about.

I did mine quite a bit different. Got it really clean, found a clean piece of glass, sprayed it with a good coat of aluminum, placed the grill (face down) on the wet painted glass. Nice even thick coverage. That was about 20 years ago and still looks good.

    Hi Tom3,
what do you mean , a good coat of aluminum, as in colored aluminum paint? Do you remember what type you used?
    Thanks

I was under the impression that they were originally Vacuum metalized then painted black with the grille face down?

    secondgenaddict...............The 70-73 R/S grilles halves were molded
in Black Plastic and then the Face of the crossbars/eggcrate/slats
was coated/painted "silver" using an unknown process.

Don't remember but you wouldn't want a fast dry type paint, just regular aluminum or "chrome" paint. None of the chrome spray paints are even close to chrome though.
