What year is your Prius and how many miles per gallon goes your car get on the highway?
Not an owner but I've had to take many home over the years to try and duplicate faults. The older ones (late 90s to 2003) would get mid 30s mpg on the highway and slightly higher in stop and go driving. The fuel economy has steadily been going up since. The 2nd gens (which you will see the most on the road and for sale used) would get somewhere in the 40s both highway and city. The latest gen with a plug in get a combined mpg somewhere in the 50mpg range highway and close to double that in stop and go city driving.
I know you're asking about Prius but my wife drives a Ford Cmax Energi that is a gas electric hybrid. It averages 45+ highway on gas and combined her average as of right now is 75.5mpg. It is quiet and rides great. We've had no issues with it in 2+ years so far. She drives 30 miles one way to work and back. We plan on getting another one when the time comes. When we bought it, the ratings were better than the Prius.
Who would admit it?
there are virtually zero electric vehicles around here...they would probably freeze...and the hyper-mileage tires are sh*t in the snow
This is the only PRIUS that a man would drive:
My wife has a 2010. If I remember right we were getting around 45-50 mpg on the highway this past summer when we drove out to the Black Hills.
I want to thank the members that took the time to answer my question; to the ones that made smart-ass comments please grow up and keep your immature comments to yourself! You added nothing to this conversation!!!
