Nice 15mph tailwind. I did a 3rd gear burnout and warmed up the ET Street Radials. Track was fully "your shoes off" sticky. I launched and 2000rpm and flashed to 4200. Car hooked, front end started coming up, then it blew off the tires. So I pedaled it and it shook HARD. Pedaled it once more and >BANG!<. Pulled it to the side and no fluid on the track; but no ring & pinion connected in the 9 inch any more. :) Frickin tire shake. They saw it in the tower! Should have aborted - these radials are parts breakers when they do that. Here are some pics.

Some bad ass fast cars there today.

Have you looked into the 9 1/2 center section?? If you broke the 9" 3 times, it might be time to upgrade the center section??

Good luck getting back out asap!!!!

Last time it broke the rear it took out EVERYTHING all the way to the converter. $$$$. I am really hoping it isn't that bad this time because the driveshaft is still in it and I did not zing the motor. This is a brand new billet FTI converter I sure hope it didn't balloon.

And it's only a small block! Hey, does that 9.5 fit in a standard 9.0 case? I found a used Mark Williams 3rd member with 7 passes on it. It's a bolt through of course. Only problem is it has an 1/8 mile gear in it.

I was told they do fit. Sometimes on a stock housing you have to do a small amount of trimming??
They claim the ring is the only part different, slightly bigger, but everything else is same dimensions.

I would definitely call the housing or spool company 1st, this is just what I read on yellow bullet.

You do know Mark Williams uses a different axle than Strange & Moser.
Like on my Pro-Mod, I have to have 2 sets of axles.
If something happens to my M/W center section, my spare is a Strange and the axles do not interchange :(
Same housing, both 40 spline, but they are different length's.

    Good luck.

Spinning then hooking breaks a lot of stuff. I've been 1.18 60' on the rear tires with a 9", without breakage. I learned long ago it was a lot cheaper to just coast after I blew the tires off, unless it was a $$ or points race. I also had much better luck with CF driveshafts, they seem to dampen the shock to the rear much more than aluminum. Second choice is 4130.

Worst tire shake I ever had after I pedaled it. 295/65/15 ET Street Radials with 20psi. Maybe I will put the 10.5 slicks back on it. It never shook those. I see it also broke the left rear shock, it's pissing oil. These were single adjustables I need to get some doubles on here.
