Hi, I'm new to this site, well fairly new, but I am in need of some help. I own a 79 Camaro, I'm making a custom "SS" out of it, just thought I would be a little different haha. But moving along to my question, I was wondering if anyone has tried to convert a 78-79 nonfunctional hood scoop in to a functional one? I was thinking...Cut out that little fiberglass opening on the hood scoop, cut a nice hole in the hood underneath the main area. I would just like to know if anyone has done this or something similar.

    Thank you!!!

I'm sure I've seen it done here. Don't see why you couldn't,I know I would. try doing a search in the body section or the progress section

I have seen it done before and it was very nice and funtional. Only downfall is if you get caught in the rain and you will have to be careful when you wash it or cover the engine with plastic or something.

what about if you dont cut the opening out , but drill all the squares out of the cover and the hood? I would think it would still allow air and not much water, just a thought
