Does any of our 74 Z28 owners who have an insulation pad know whether the retainers suppose to be plastic on it? I believe it came original with plastic retainers with a part number of 3977775. But, I need to know for sure it they came with metal or plastic retainers. The assembly manual shows the above part number, but in the picture description about them, they look like the square metal ones.
    Thanks,
    George

Thanks for this information. I have been looking for some of them with that number on them lately. I saw some NOS ones on EBay for a very high price.

When I removed the original OE insulation from my 73 R/S LT it had the round
plastic....I'm certain that Round Plastic Started in 1972 if not some of the 1971
    production.

I can provide both Round Plastic reproduction (no part number) and square metal
    reproduction

    Contact my email
