Does anyone know off the top of their heads if these rearends are interchangeable? Both are leaf spring and preliminary measurements look very close.

Everything i've been told is yes. I've never tried it myself but i have been looking for a new rear end and everything i have found matches up the same.

The 73 Camaro rear end is wider and the perches have different spacing.

That is correct. The '67 to '69 Camaro and '68 to '75 Nova rear ends are the same width (60 inches) and the spring perches are in the same location (42 1/2 inches center to center) and will interchange. The '70 to '81 Camaro rear ends are 61 inches wide and the spring perches are 45 1/4 inches center to center.

75-79 Nova interchanges with 70-81 Camaro. 68-74 Nova and 67-69 Camaro interchange.

The 75-79 Nova rears are the same size as the 68-74 Nova rears. Here's some info on those rear ends:

I have run into a few '76 and later Novas with the wider 8.5 in them. I don't know why some of them have the wider rear end. You need to check them before you go to the trouble of taking one out.
