Found a 71 camaro Im thinking of buying. Original rs. Lower hp 350 numbers matching. 350 trans on floor with console. New quarters, exhaust, seat covers, carpet. The floor and body have no rust. Runs and drives good. Has ps pb and a/c. It was repainted the orginal color which is copper looks brown. Paint and body work is decent no show car. He wants $9000. I think the color hurts the value alot. What do you think?

We need to see some pictures of the car first.

color does not hurt the value

new quarters IS a concern...were they done correctly? if there was that much rust how much is still there, slathered under bondo?

questions need asked & magnets need used

They only put bottom half of quarters on so no its not exactly dne right but it looks decent. I cant imagine the body has too much bondo since the original floors and trunk have no rust at all.

I paid 9K for my 71 RS thirteen months ago and it was along long way from being drivable and trashed interior and no windshield or back glass the saving grace was mine was with the Z28 option.

Pics would help. Also the local area helps on the price. I feel I paid a lot got my car $8500, but the pickings was slim and it was the only car I could find that wasn't rusty underneath

From your description, $9K sounds like a good deal to me...almost too good.

I'm with Chuck sounds like a good deal. I would take a peek underneath and look at rear leaf spring mounts and rust in general.
