Hurst shifter handle, shifter mounting plate for muncies,L34, Shadow Gray paint.
I'm like 99.9% certain that the 7433 shift handle for Hurst was a '70-71 item (the only two years for Hurst in 2nd gen Camaros) same goes for the mounting plate - for the same reason.
1970 Body color
1970 was the the only year Camaro Gold exterior body color paint was offered.
2nd Gen.Camaro's Rule
Actually code 53 was used in 1970, 71, 72 and 74. It was called Camaro Gold in 1970, Placer Gold in 71 and 72 and Light Gold in 74.
In my opinion this thread as been beat up.
The 0.01 saved you...
70 only mounting plate on left, 71-73 right
70 camaro muncies used 584 tailhousing, 71-73 had 764 tailhousing
Mounting holes are in different locations
70 mounting plate will not bolt to 764 tailhousings
71-73 mounting plate holes lines up with 764 tailhousings
This plate can also be used on Super T10
70 camaro only plate on 70 only 584 tailhousing
Interesting - I'm showing that #7945 was installed on '70-71 Firebird/TA's with no console (as opposed to #7244 which would have been '70-71 Firebird/TA with console & '72-78 Firebird/TA with or without console). that's from Pete Serio who is "the Man" when it comes to Hurst shifters.
Just for clarification (and not to challenge for the sake of challenging) On what do you base your assertion? Do you have a photo of a 7945?
I stand corrected. I'd totally forgotten about the tail shaft housing change over for '71 so my logic above on the mounting plate was faulty.
