My original covers are really pitted through and the new roller tip rockers would require the removal of the little splash tabs on the inside. Not going to modify the originals. Any one know of any similar looking after market covers made? Really like the original finned look but I'm not finding any after market.

Find the thickest gasket and double it in height and seal them together for the extra height. You can get that hole welded up with aluminum from your local welders.

This guy welds aluminum air boats for a living. Said he stopped because the casting was so porous that he was afraid he'd burn right through it.

Yes they are stock height. Pretty much a exact reproduction of the originals except they have a smoother finish and a semi gloss shine.

I'm sure JB Weld would seal the hole too.

Not thick enough if you have short lock nuts but will clear roller tip rockets as I have also. I'm using Felpro 1604 with Steel Core center valve cover gaskets.
