Mine is in storage. The edges will sit lower then the center top of the hump though.

If it sits too low the front can be raised up. You may have to trim the front top of the console back. When you raise it up, if the bottom of the console looks like it sits too high it is really easy to slide some padding behind the carpet to fill the gap and push it toward the console sides and it looks “factory”.
I think you can make it work and it will look great. Raising the front doesn’t really affect the height of the arm rest so the ergonomics don’t change.
Did you get it to work with your automatic? I'm really wanting to try it.
Not yet, I have it sitting on a shelf right now, got busy with some side projects
I found a pic of one in a 1st gen. Looks like it should work. Just need to fab a shifter plate.
Yeah but I want to see it with a 73-81 shifter dammit!!
I'm picking up an automatic from a 2010 tomorrow. Not sure when I'll be able to get to work on it (car is getting painted now) but I'm hoping soon.
