540 BBC swap '73 split bumper

    Yes . Its the 7622. Very nice well cast manifold. Much lighter than the Edelbrock Vic Jr. with a better finish.

    they have big block header for 1972 Camaro. I had a set hooker headers they fit great. They used to put bbc in camaro

    I think you would be surprised see Lil Red 406 posts with his 555. near identical setup as you. get the suspension right and high 9's will not be a problem. My build is almost identical. Straub Solid Roller though and 315s dynode in the high 700s and had a 700 tq table over several thousand RPM. I'm right at 10:1 port matched intake. Jessel shaft rockers. Nothing crazy. Vortech Pro has built a lot of 496 that make 700 hp and have run deep in to the 9s at 3500 lbs.

    His set up does sound like mine ,should run good.

    I still have the 2 inch headman headers .I took a saw to them and cut the small 3 inch collector off and put bigger ones on.

    9s shouldn't be hard. This is my current set up
    78 Camaro,3495lbs,BBC 555 with AFR 325s ,flat top pistons ,threw a 90lb 4 inch exhaust system with 4 mufflers and x pipe with 12,500 miles and 300+passes on the motor
    Driven 75 mile round trip to the track.Foot braked leaving from 1000rpm idle ,390 gears shifts at 6200-6500 rpm traps 6600
    UD Harold Hydraulic roller 3/4 pre load .660/.660 259@50 110 lobe sep ,still have the factory power brakes

    No problem, recently got a new best
    with vp 109 that is 105 octane
    weather was 58 deg with 86% humidity DA was +593
    I couldn't get traction so I had to ease into it and broke up on the big end not sure yet what the deal is yet lean ? , anyways
