409 SBC: Help with picking heads?

    220's use standard rockers arms. 227's use the offset arms.

    Older 220's needed offset rockers.

    I bought mine around 1992 and I used conventional rockers no problem.

    I have used quite a few sets of the 220 AFR heads and standard rockers worked fine. I guess if you know what your doing it makes a difference !!! Now the 227 235 and 245 those use offset rockers.

    Thanks guys ... I just put an order in with my engine builder for AFR220 milled to 60cc, titanium .800 package for solid lifters ... we are now talking swaping out my hydraulic rollers for the solid ...

    I will keep you all posted how we go.

    SK Speed but for this engine I did the assembly and will do the heads in the car.
