2000 5.3 LS into 71, my progress/ lessons learned

    Got any pictures or know what year S10 its off of. Did it clear the hood without having to cut any material out?

    alternator was off a 2001 4.3L S10, No cutting required. Sorry I dont have any pictures, i pulled all my front end off for paint.

    Just a heads up I had to cut my tunnel to make room for my 2003 truck 4L60E.

    I already made the 4l80e fit without cutting anything.....;)

    did the f body oil pan have enough clearance on the cross member? or did you have to notch the frame? im going to try and get mt 5.3 in this weekend and by the measurements its close to touching, do you have a pic from below showing where everything layed out?

    I would recommend going with a different oil pan. Mine clears but its less than a half inch. It doesn't hit when idling or rpms up to roughly 3k but thats as high as I've taken it. I wouldn't be surprised if I have to swap oil pans down the line as I refuse to notch my crossmember. I won't be able to take a picture until this weekend. I used speedways ls swap motor mounts motor mounts

    Wiring was/is a breeze with LT1swap.com?
    Is the motor running? Did you purchase a harness from them or do your own.
    I believe this may be the most difficult part for many hot roders.
