Back to work on the car today - more beautiful weather to be outside and enjoy!

    Smog pump, pulley and bracket

AIR tubing and lines. Left-hand came out without much of an issue this time.

Engine bay, sans manifolds. Cleaned up the passenger valvecover as well. A lot more room just without the AIR setup.

Did a bunch of cleaning until I ran out of brake clean

Six cans of brake cleaner seemed the proper amount to buy – more cleaning.

Headers vs manifolds…should be quite the difference

My brother came over to give me another set of hands to work with installing the headers. The right side was pretty easy, while the left side was a bit more involved, but they both went in.

I had tried (and failed) to get the exhaust on for the car show the next day, so I ended up taking the Cobalt (with open exhaust)

My buddy came over to help me out with getting the exhaust installed (surprisingly, as he had just rode the Stelvio Pass the prior week/weekend)

Back on the ground – had to run a die over two of my rear studs, and just ordered all new lugs, so they matched.

A video of how it sounds. I'm not sure the camera really captures it too well, but it's something!

Well, I did a little spending on Black Friday...with some serious help from a lot of members here.

The full shipment from the first company all arrived (on 3 separate days) this week:

Hotchkis Sport Coil & Leaf Springs, 1 3/8" hollow front swaybar and 7/8" hollow rear swaybar - everything in the TVS Stage 1 Kit except for fancy tie-rod sleeves.

Based on the pictures I was shown on NastyZ28 of similar cars with stock tires and Hotchkis springs, they sit practically exactly how mine does - despite being a 2" drop up front and 1.5" drop out back, meaning my springs are way past sagging - but also meaning I get to keep the current stance, which I love.

Finally got the last two boxes this week (the last today), so of course I couldn't leave the parts in the boxes. They are currently on my basement floor, with everything else.

Going to be busy this winter (hoping to not be an idiot this time, so I can actually drive the car for the first half of the warm weather).

Good looking project. Are you going to put it on the dyno again now that it has the new exhaust? It would be interesting to see what it picked up with the new exhaust.

    Thanks!

And yup - that is the plan. We were supposed to have a dyno day this year, but it never materialized. I am not planning on any other modifications that would affect power in 2018, so it should still be the good A-B comparison I want, assuming someone actually sets the event up this time...
