Christmas Bump..... old blue still up for sale. How about $32.000?
Still for sale bump..............
Very nice looking! If I had won the lottery, I'd have taken it! Good luck!
My first 70 Z-28 that I ordered NEW was also a column shift Turbo 400.
I never knew it at the time but the Z-28 Turbo was different (code) than the non high performance Chevrolets/Olds/Buick/Pontiac. They had a different valve body and the higher stall 6 Bolt Torque Converter.
After Modifications to Include Headers, Ignition Recurve, Holly Mods, Small Rear Slicks, my otherwise stock 70 Z ran 12.9's.
I understand that the 4 speed version is more valuable/popular.........but I can tell you that the 70 Z-28 T-400 was fast and fun to drive !!!!!
I wish I had the original stall as that is the only thing I don't have and smog unit of course. Glad to read your inputs. The car was very fast by 1970 standards. I trans was just fine when I pulled it out. I would like to have it built but I really don't trust anyone to work on it or the motor. They are the real deal though. Birth motor/tranny and you can bet my life on it.
Sure, the 4speeds are fun to drive, but there's not many people who can shift a 4speed car any faster, or even as fast or as accurately as a well tuned T-400 will shift.
Mike...it was a pleasure talking to you today about your car. Sending you an email now to express my interest in the car along with an offer.
Thank you very much NorCam. Just getting to this post and the pleasure was all mine. Take care and maybe talk with you again some day.
