Cars were not built in one day. There was some time between stamping the cowl tag, attaching it to the body, getting that body to the final assembly line, and getting it finished and out the door.
We do not know at what point the assigned VIN would be called a 01E or an 02A. With a VIN a few numbers later than the list we have, that car was most likely had its cowl tag stamped one of the final days of January, but didn't get off the final assembly line until some days into February. (remember that 5th week of any month could be only a few days at most)
While the cowl tag says 01E, you probably wouldn't have seen it come out the final assembly line door until a few days into Feb if you had been standing there.
    Your numbers look legit.
