Was a space saver spare tire an original option for a Z/28 RS? If so, what would the option code number be?

I use a space saver cause I don't want the big F60 SOB in the trunk.

Note: A pair of 6x9 speakers pretty much eliminates the full size spare option.
(If you're considering adding a speaker at any point in the future.)

Yup, unless you slide the large spare rearward.

    spare size with speaker

I managed to get my full size spare in with the passenger side speaker. Man- It was a pain as the spare is pretty heavy. On another note, I'm amazed at how many "original" 70-72 Camaro's have the space saver in the trunk.

I thought there was at least one company that made a low profile 6×9 speaker to eliminate the problem of fitting a full size spare in the trunk.

73s too the space saver was a pretty rare option and actually moved the jack location to under the package tray .
