1970 Metal Ashtray Restoration with Rivets

    1210171928_HDR.jpg 1210171950.jpg 1210171659.jpg After doing some careful research and trial and error rivet selection, I think I obtained a near-factory rivet install.
    Used Hanson squeezer HS-42. (4" x 2") and two different size zinc plated tubular rivets. The side rivets are shorter than the front face. You also need a flush oval head squeezer and rollover dies.
    Tool is pretty expensive for a one time use so it looks like I'll be restoring a few more to spread out the cost.

    Nice job Tom. You interested in doing a couple for me? I actually need 2 done for my 70 Z and L78. Let me know what kind of price your thinking?

    I think I would consider it. Biggest worry... I don't mind messing up my stuff but sure hate the thought of doing the same to yours. Ha!
