All the early rear mount engined cars were exciting to say the least. I don't think the Corvair was any more dangerous than the early Porsche. Or beetles for that matter.

Did Nader go after Porsche btw?

Yeah, I heard. How fast were Roger and Paul going in that 40mph zone again?

The list of "undesirable" cars is a bit flawed though. BMW M1 has been many people's wet dream for decades.

The Corvair was/is a really cool car. The suspension jacking issue Nader talked about was
    1) already corrected by the time he started talking about it
    2) could be corrected with a $0.50 leather strap
    3) existed in half a dozen other cars of the era, including the VW Bug and several Porsches

My dad had a Corvair and loved it but it was long gone by the time I was around! I remember him talking about them fondly but he never did get another one.

When I was around 3 or 4 years old, my Pop had a Corvair... He bought it for $50.00 with a bad starter. He wasnt very handy and I remember him and my Mom having to push start that car... I think he eventually wrecked it.
