I think the 650 dp is definitely choking it down. Put the 850 on and you'll notice more in the upper R's. You'll only get so much from the 270 rr. Your intake comes in at around 3500-8000. Your cam having 240+ duration wants more R's than 5500 or 6000. Is it strip or street?

I built the motor myself the first time for the strip but never took it to the strip just played on the street. I spun #2 rod bearing and had a local shop do it all this time. The car has 3.90 gears , TCI super street fighter trans with 3500 rpm converter. 28 x 12.5 ET Streets and a 200 HP NX plate system. I have been running a 1050cfm 4150 Quick Fuel carb. I have 3 different carbs and the 1050 pulls harder in my opinion , the other 2 are HP holley 850dp and a QFT 780vs. Why do you think its falling over on the dyno at 5200 to 5400 ?

I just picked the motor up today and would like to know if there is something I need to do or change before I drop the motor back in. Any and all help is very appreciative.

When you said it had the 650 on it on the Dyno I figured that's what was choking it. If everything is the same internally. Put the carb back on it should come back.

I just noticed that the cam is installed on a 107*CL per the build sheet and the cam card says a 106 would make it 4 degrees advanced. Is this hurting or helping ?

When you advance it you'll get more bottom end. It'll take a little from the top but I don't know if you'll notice it in the seat of your pants. Drop the motor in with your carb. Try bringing in your advance as quick as you can. Good luck! Let us know.

I got my motor in last night and fired it up today. I have the 1050 QFT carb on with the fuel pressure at 7psi and the float level set. I set my timing on 36deg. It is running very good just cruising around town. I have not taken it past 3500 yet. I am waiting to get a few miles on it and get the break in oil out. So far it seems pretty good
