think we are at $7500
should have it home Saturday
I think you got a fair deal. I would do minimal work to make it a safe driver. If you restore it, you'll have to wait a while for the value to catch up. l see nice, smog legal cars here in the SF Bay Area going for 8-12k but most are less, and it poor condition. 1977 would be the year I'd look for (late 2nd gens). I know I'm reviving this thread from the dead but I could sure use some help from the experts here. Can anyone tell me the best place to check for the current value of my '77 based on condition and mileage? I've had it since '78 but unfortunately I finally have to part with it. I'd appreciate any help or tips ya'll could give me.
No less than $12k that's for sure. I have seen lesser cars going for $15k. I may even be too low on the value.

Thanks for the info Cadillac!
Thanks a lot COPO and thanks for providing the links. Those will be helpful. I see you had one at one time too. The car itself probably falls a little above "good" condition. Even though its an all original 4 spd., A/C car with just a little over 52,000 on the odometer, I have to subtract SOME dollar amount from the value. It will need a little work to get it back on the road.
Back in the day, I made a few preparations to it and pulled the car in the garage with the intent of just driving it on the weekends. Well... life got in the way and here I am over 29 years later. Besides rolling it out once a year for a wash and wax, its just been sitting in the garage under the car cover. Letting it sit-up is one of the dumbest things I ever did.
Yes, I ordered a 4 spd with A/C with no pwr windows. My very 1st new car I bought.
