How many have a franken camaro??

Called up for parts and after a few disscussions the guy says, "do you have anything on that car that came from 72?" I said yes the body did, possibly the hood. After thinking about it yea that seems about right. driver door might be but i think it's off a 71, seats are not, dash is not original because it's a ac one, where i don't have ac on this car. Engine lol well thats long gone, tranny definetly isn't. rear springs are off an 81 the list goes on and on. Glad I kept the deluxe door pannels thou, almost traded them off for something at the time.

You don't want to even get me started... But about the things still left from the original car is the roof, firewall, and front floor, oh - and also the front subframe.

Yeah my car definitely fits that description.

It is a 72 w/ a 72 roof, doors, rockers, trunk floor, subframe, and rear end housing and 71 header panels. The rest is all new for the most part. It has a 454 out of who knows what in it, a t-56 out of a 94 camaro, and more new parts than I care to even think about.

body's all original.. and some of the interior..

You know you've been at it for a while when your friends ask you what you've done to the car and you say "the short list is that I haven't fixed the seat covers yet."

I would guess there are parts from 15-20 other cars in/on mine. Some only donated window trim or something small, others gave up an engine or transmission.

I call my son's Firebird "FrankenBird" but it only has parts from a couple of cars.

Heinz 57, little bit of everything. That's what my dad called my car with all my different parts. Basically, the subframe, body shell, and dash are stock. Everything else isn't original to the car.

My Answer Is In My Signature Below!!

I have a Mexican 4 bolt 340, with USA 400 heads, edlebrock manifold used valvetrain parts from a modified circle track car. I have 78 Camaro with 80-81 grille and fender vents, my rear axles somehow are also 80-81. My rear suspension is mostly from pro touring, the front was modified to fit cost effective AFCO suspension parts which include chopping up the original AA arm mounts. the radiator support was also chopped to fit the new radiator that is huge. I also have plans for new seats and leather. I have brake parts from a 71 Camaro, a fiberglass hood and a whole bunch of other junk.

The block, transmission case & diff housing are the only GM parts in my driveline. The interior is almost all aftermarket or custom, the dash & headliner is still GM but the body other than the fiberglass hood & the passenger door(from a 78) are all original to the car(81).

I guess it is pretty franken.

SBC 409, through the mufflers, on DOT radials, you know, like a street car should be.

Yep my car is a little Frankensteinish. Do you guys enjoy going to the parts store? O'reilly's used to have some guys that actually knew what was going on. They have since hired a slightly less experienced staff. Here is how my visits usually go.

Parts guy: Can I help you?
Me: Yeah, I need a distributor cap & a set of plug wires for a small block chevy with HEI.
Parts guy: What model & year vehicle?
Me: nevermind that. Just look up wires & cap for a small block with HEI.
Parts guy: I need to know what model & year.. umm, for the computer.
Me: 1967 Pontiac Firebird
Parts guy: they didn't have HEI in 1967. What kind of car was that?
Me: 1967 Pontiac Firebird
Parts guy: You sure it's got a small block Chevy in it?
Me: yes, it has a 1965 model 327.......which is why I asked for cap & wires for a small block chevy with HEI.

The fun never ends. lol
