I'm in. I'm gonna quit putting it off and get out there. I don't know if I'll have the Camaro or not, and definitely won't be racing it, but I should at least be able to get out there and check out the track!

ooo my car is not in great shape. It just blew a head gasket about a week ago and the number 8 cylinder has only 25psi now and its leaving a cloud of smoke behind it from that. I'm gonna make some money this weekend though and buy some new heads, lifters, and all that crap so that I can actually run my car this time.

been to lazy to tear the motor down yet. Plus I don't got the money to put it back together. But I think the heads are the problem because my motor keeps chewing up spark plugs.

Also the plug on only the #8 cylinder was chewed up when I did a compression test and that was the cylinder that was leaking.

What do you mean chewed up? Like the pistons are smacking them? I cant imagine heads causing plugs to go bad.

I dont know if the heads are straight or not is the thing. I checked them with a straightedge and a feeler gauge and it all checked out ok but I know that there is some issue with the driver side exhasut ports cause they keep leaking even with two gaskets on them

Your plugs may be too long and geeting smacked by the pistons Ive had that happen and switched to a shorter plug do you know what plugs you are running? Im willing to bet the heads are fine, are you sure you have the correct gasket for your exhaust port?

I run the plugs that show up for the stock 78 z28 at the parts store. And I've tried about 5 different gaskets on the exhaust and it still leaks. not so much now with the double gasket, and its only been on the driver side exhaust. I think my motor has been melting the plugs though, the ground strap is discolored. Also the reason I want to get new heads is cause I'm planning on putting twin turbos on my motor eventually and am gonna get a lower compression head like a 75cc or something.
