seems like a no brainer on that buy
you might be able to get $1K back if you find someone that likes those "wheels" it has and get some stock ones
the seller seemed to think they were a selling feature ....

Ok, feeling a little better now. First car purchase without seeing car! Something that goes against everthing I have ever done! Does it seem like the real deal as far as a true SS #'s matching from what you can tell??

the engine compartment looks correct, the tag is the original, the SS emblems are where they should be and the car has dual exhaust
from the pics provided, it appears to be correct

Not much you can buy nice for $10K today, you did good. As far as telling if it is a real SS, hard to tell from the pics.

I also have a numbers matching 71SS. Good buy! But (please take no offense) those wheels gotta go!
Check the three letter suffix on the motor i.d. You should have one that decodes to a 270hp SS motor. Mine shows "CJD" as the suffix. You might also see "CGL".

I agree with the wheels, look like they should be on an escalade or something.
I think I might have to add the spoiler, like that look better. Good start though I am hoping to turning into a sweet car. Now what to do with my 79............

Beautiful car.
I recently paid 4k for a running "good" 78 (no special trim, and has rust in floor pans). In my area, 70-73's are high 6-9k for "decent" looking cars.
I would probably pay more than others would say is reasonable, but from my own 8 month car search, that is an awesome price. (I am no where near an expert, but can offer an opinion based on my own experiences looking for the perfect Camaro over the last 8 months.)

Not to hi-jack the thread but I've got an original nice spoiler I can hook you up with if interested and I have some friends from Blairsville that I can send it back with.

Picked this car up yesterday. Pretty happy overall. Drove it from Kentucky to Pittsburgh at 70-75 mph with no problems, strong engine and good handling. The seller was honest for the most part. The only question I have is, it only had a drivers side sport mirror, is that right? Also, the windshield wipers are not working, and they don't appear to be hidden, unless there just stuck above the hood. I thought th SS had the hidden wipers.
Any thoughts.
