4 Or 5 Leafs
My 70 camaro has 4 leaf springs now and I was going to order some from JC Whitney. Well the 5 leaves are 30 dollars cheaper. Would there be a big difference in ride b/w 4 and 5 leaves? This car is only a weekend rider and I'm not taking it to the strip

The fifth leaf is suppose to help and lift the car up a little higher than stock. They will be a little stiffer to. I like the look of the rear being up a little higher that the front and I do not want to cut my front coils if I do not have to. Our cars squated in the rear from the factory.

I have 5 leafs in my 80, ride went from spongy to overly hard, once they are broken in they should be better, mine were.

just to fill you in on those springs in particular.
The 5 leafs are a softer spring.
The 4 leaf is designed to be a more performance oriented replacement (ala' Z28 specs) so it is about 40% stiffer than the 5 leaf.
I sell the exact same springs (we buy them from the same place). I ran the 4 leaf on my camaro when I had it, and I would again in a heartbeat.

I'll second the 4 leafs from
http://www.classiccarsprings.com
I had the originals replaced with Eatons - and got this -
Ran those for a year hoping they'd 'settle'. Got tired of having my teeth rattle every time I hit a bump in the road and got the 4 leafs from internetautomart and got this -

April, thats some difference between the two different brands of leaf springs on your camaro. It looks like its about 4 inches or so higher with the eatons almost like a air shock appearance.lol. I think i'm going to go with Classic also for my leaf springs. Nice pic btw of your Camaro.

Thanks for the compliment!
The Eatons actually were holding the shocks (Edelbrock Classics) fully extended all the time, thus no shock travel, or not much to speak of. When they unbolted the shocks to change out the springs the second time, the rear actually ROSE even more. To be fair, Eaton did offer to re-arch them, but by the time I had them pulled, shipped out and the down time on the car waiting for them to be shipped back, I decided to just replace them (at a much cheaper price) than to deal with it.

April,
I envy that car. Absolutely beautiful with the Cragars. It makes me wish I could tear mine apart!
