brakes with no vacuum.

First of all. The 454 is in the 79 and running and on the road (All be it i'm waiting for a new carb) and loads of thanks to those of you who helped me with a few of my problems ( there were hundreds!!!!). But i have a new problem. Due to the size of the cam i'm running i have very little vacuum and as such very little brakes. Is there any way round this without changing the cam? I have new calipers all round and no leaks in the system. Your help would be greatly appreciated again!!!

Vacuum storage canister?

Electric vacuum pump?

Go to manual brakes (yuck)

Sorry I have no experience with any of the above, just know they are out there...

Talk to Paul he is a very knowledgeable guy. This is what I plan on putting in my car when I get that far along. Also you may try posting this in the suspension and brakes area.

Hydroboost is not legal in some states if it has been added on aftermarket. I would check the local laws before installing it.

I saw this idea from one of the other members so I can;t say it is my idea . He was running an electric pump and useing his mecanical pump to pull vacum to his power brakes, sounds like it would work to me ! 73Z/28 406, dart's,caged and connected, mufflers, and tags,11.65@117NO (nos) needed !

My bad, it is fully hydraulic steering that is illegal. If you lose power or pressure you have no steering at all, and that's why it is illegal.
