156mph in a Caprice LT1, and 155 mph in a Trans am that had a 455 in it. In the Trans am we were going so fast, the molding on the rear window came off, i was young and stupid.

This in my car... I was definitly coming close to valve float land... Surprisly no shakes, noise (other then a screaming motor). Had my camera resting on top of the wheel. And for the record, my steering wheel is not due center.

The fastest I have been was 120mph in an old LTD as a teen. It might have been faster because we had the speedo buried, laughing all the way! Stupid kids!!
We should have a "What's the slowest you have gone". I rode in the Goodyear blimp when I was a kid. That think poked along all over the sky!

Hehehe... those speeds were in GM products. I haven't tried with the Mustang or Crown Vic yet. High speeds don't get me going like they used to.

I would estimate about 150mph with windows down racing a RX7 turbo in my other 80 rs (i had twins) w/ 310,vette L98 heads TRW forged ft's 3:08 rear. I smoked him for at least 5 miles then he slowly caught up on Interstate.

Fastest with me driving: 120+ in 1968 Camaro 327/350 hp, powerglide transmission, 2.65 rear gears. Used to leave work at IBM Endicott and be in the driveway 34 miles later in 17 minutes. This is before they completed I88 between Rt 12A and the Brandywind Highway.
Scariest fastest ride: 64 Chevy II drag car. 292(.060"+ 283) TH350 trans, Ford 9" with 5.83:1 gears. Just as I shifted into drive, it blew the driveshaft completely out of the car. I still ran a 14.2 ET at 98 MPH coasting through the traps.
Fastest as a passenter: 1967 Corvette 427/435 HP four speed roadster from Jacksonville, Fla, to NAS Ciecel Field Fla on the two lane road that was as staight as an arrow (or is seamed to be). 150+ mph counting telephone poles like a picket fence. Car was later that that next summer by the owners brother who put the wheels back on it, took it for a ride and was hit by a drunk who ran a stop sign. The owner (6'8" Navy Aviation Oordenanceman) did not talk for three days. Wrote his brother that said brother would buy him the fastest production car and it WOULD be waiting for him on the dock at Mayport Fla when we got back from the Med. We arrived in Mayport late in July of 1969 and on the dock sat a Black with gold stripes Talladega Torino with a 429 under the hood. The owner, Big Dave, got out of the navy the next day. The last thing I saw of him, or should I say of the Torino, was the back of it evaporate out the main gate at NAS Ciecel Field in a cloud of blue tire smoke.

90MPH in 1975 camaro - 350 with 3.08 rear and 14-75 tires and that was all it could do with only primaries open and no secondaries on 3800 RPM or so... I guess I am the winner of low speed record
