Dash gauge bezel

I have a '73 RS with a brownish dash gauge bezel...I want it to be black to match the rest of the interior. I am looking at a black dash gauge bezel on e-bay from a '75 RS. Will it fit without modifications?

Or, can I paint mine with black spray paint? Anyone paint one of these before? How were the results? What type of paint?

Thanks in advance.

I used SEM dye on mine and I think it turned out great. Just clean your old one up very good and do several light coats of paint and it should be good to go.

The 75 bezel should be an perfect fit, if you want to take that option.

You will have to use the wiper switch out of the 75.The slot for the wiper switch is a differant size.I painted mine and it turned out great.I even took a silver paint marker and outlined the areas that where silver from the factory. All in all it looks good.Just clean it very good, use some adhesion promoter and I used a satin black paint.

Painted mine with regular Krylon semi-gloss black. No problems. No matter what paint or dye you use make sure you clean it good to get all the protectant off.

I painted my bezel black. It used to be tan. The labels were white lettering on a black background. I cut neat little rectangles out of masking tape to cover the lettering. After I painted it a semi-gloss, I took the masking tape off and the black background for the lettering matches great to the new paint. I bought a silver paint pen and plan to paint the trim.

If anyone needs one of these black bezels, let me know. My Camaro is a '70 and this bezel is out of a post-70 Camaro. Thus, the wiper switch hole is different and uses a totally different wiper switch. I'm considering selling mine to get one for a '70.

yo Cub fan...I'm a Bud man...RIP Harry!...grew up blocks away from Wrigley...We'll get um next year.

I'm going to paint mine because of your issue...don't want to hassle with the different size wiper. Everyone seems to have had good success with painting. Good luck

Unfrozn, yeah, I think painting is the way to go. Good luck with that. Should turn out good.

Wrigley is the best, hands down. Otherwise, why is it sold out nearly every day, even when the team is in last place? I expect next year to be better now that Dusty is gone. If only the pitching can stay healthy!

we were supposed to have one of the best rotations in the majors the past few years but someone(s)...cough cough...Wood and Prior...always get hurt. If Zambrano, Wood and Prior can last a season we'll be fine...sooooo long Dusty! I went to high school at the closest public high school to Wrigley...we use to be able to sneak in back then (way before all the security concerns)
