auto/manual console differences?

Any chance a console for a manual would work on an automatic (70 Camaro)? I never knew they were so hard to find and so pricey! Live & learn! Anyway, this isn't for show quality so if it could be modified and still look decent, I would consider it.
Thx!

I believe the only differences between the two are the insert for the shifter and the brackets that mount the console to the transmission hump. The body of the console is the same. Someone correct me if this isn't right.

Ok so are you saying it ould be used on an auto? Wyhat would have to be changed, modified? Is it do-able or not worth it?

just swap in your auto bezel, they are the same console, no modifications needed
