Hey man, my grandad past away last week and I've been up at my parents house for about the last week.

I've got oil to the top now but its real slow. Not sure if this is due to the straight 40w oil or a different profile on the lifters. If I can't figure it out real soon, that motor is coming out and I throwing the old one in just to get it back on the road. And once I get it straight then maybe throw in that 700r4 in too.

That was with the priming tool, it was only about half as it was before with the different components in there. I hear it may be the way the lifters are made.

I'm back home now, so I'm start messin with this.

Well Andy I got some bad news today! It seams my good buddy who claimed he knew how to set the valve lash correctly, basicly F-ed up. He over tightened my #7 exuaste valve & it ended up taking the lobe off my new cam Man am I pissed ! Sh^t not only were the heads I bought in rough shape & in need of $$$ put into them but I assembled the top half of the motor twice. Now I have to do a compleate tear down becuase there is metal shavings in the oil & the machanic who I had look at the motor, wouldn't even let me drive the car back home the 2.5 miles. I had it flat bedded back home about an hour ago Macanic recomended a compleate tear down,So basiclly I have to pull the motor & start from scratch F-ing wonderfull...........& with limited funds available in my secret stash now looks like the 73 Z isn't going to see the road anytime soon. Seams wierd how we both did similar prodjects & both had problems this sucks........
Got to love these damn cars.
See yah

Dude don't loose heart. I had the same problem but didn't catch it right away and it ended in a new set of pistons and a hurt block. It was kinda a blessing cause it allowed the compression change and a roller cam up grade.

Nitro sorry to hear about the same shitty luck that I am having. Another buddy of mine blew out the bearing in his supercharger. I think I may be bad luck right now.
I've been looking at mine in the garage for over a month now and it sucks. Hopefully I can get the ball rolling this week.
