I'll post close ups later.. But the guys company is called Rick's Polishing. He is out of Olympia, WA.. I told him about our message board and he agreed to give any member 10% off if you want his services.. He doesn intakes, valve covers, just about anything.. The only thing he did for me were the pullies & brackets. THe timing cover I got off ebay & the intake is a Prof Products.. But I will be sending him my valve covers, and the a/c & smog delete pullies & brackets (the black ones) to do also.
If anyone is interested, let me know & I;ll post his contact info.

Send me some info. How much did you pay for the pulleys and brackets to be done? How long did it take him?

Anybody that does powder coating can achieve the same results, heck you can buy the stuff from eastwood. It's been around and getting popular. http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...rID=313&KICKER
A couple problems though, first - the piece your puttin it one has to be extremely smooth, look at the the different between the pulleys and brackets. While the pulleys have that chrome like look the brackets are more aluminum. Another problem is durability, due to the high aluminum content of the powder coating, it scratches easily if a clear coat is not put on, problem with that is, it dulls the chrome like finish.
Sumax powder coating up in New York (yes from American Choppers fame) and Teutel Sr. were going to go together on a project for a environmentally friendly chroming facility. Basically doing (as I understand it) the same thing they are now doing to Eddy products (their durashine, permashine, chromashine lines). Teutel was putting up the cash but backed out. That is also probably part of the reason why in the latest episodes of OCC, they have worked with different powder coaters.
Edit: Maybe the deal is still on - it's called SuperChrome, found an article pertaining to it. http://www.cnyptcruiserownersclub.co...one%20Show.htm
These guys http://www.goodrichtechnology.com/ are already doing it, or may have originated it. Only problem with this is the coating is a couple mills thick and in tight clearance situations may become an issue. Take a look at any intake that is coated, you can barely make out the part number. Was going to have a set of hood hinges done, but after talking to SMS Restorations in New York they wouldn't touch them after the procedure.
Not saying that it's not worth it (the chrome powder coating). Much more durable and looks better then being painted, but realize if it's the chrome/polished aluminum look your after - this comes up short.

BigBlock is right. any powdercoater could do it.. There are some small imperfections, but if I were building a showcar, I would have smoothed everything b4 sending them out, or paid to have it done.. He charged me $100 for the powder coating, plus to & from shipping.. Cost me $35 to ship to him, and $15 for him to ship back.. So it was $150 total.. I didnt think that was bad.. It was basically $10/per part. I sent him 10 parts..Will post the pics, just gotta finish uploading them to photobucket.. (no more dsl since the move )
He did tell me anyone from here would get a 10% discount.. So if what he charged me was his normal pricing, deduct 10% for a similar setup plus shipping. Would have to contact him to find out for intakes,etc..

The plastic would have to be pretty durable, I believe the temperature that the powder coating is "baked" at is in the neighborhood of 250 - 400 degrees.
One thing remaining that I'd like to have done is my horns, chrome plating would cost a mint since they are pot metal. May give that goodrich company a call and see if maybe they can/will do them.
For starters though, may want to contact this place. They seem to have done it... http://www.plastonics.com/
In regards to your pieces, they came out looking pretty good, but to your advantage all your pieces will "work/blend" together, since you had them all coated. I looked extensively and even got a piece of pipe done at two different shops just see how well the chrome coating looked. But wouldn't of went well with what I already had done, along with seeing pieces that had been done on a 68 camaro at the bodyshop.
There is one guy on ebay, here's a link to one of his auctions.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
I would luv to see what his looks like person, maybe another piece of pipe One big advantage you do have, while I'm out there bitchin' about water spots etc, a simple wipe down and yours is good as new.

You can't powder coat plastic. It's an electrostatic process. Unless it's a low temp powder it's cured in the range of 425 to 450 degrees.
Parts look nice Speed.

As Rick WI said, you can't powdercoat plastic or any other material that won't stand up to the heat(450F is my powdercoaters oven) & it has to conduct electricity, that's what makes the dry powder stick to it.
I spend a couple grand a month on powdercoating & I've seen just about every bright silver & chrome finish available & they all have one flaw. To get the shine, the powdercoat has a very thin top layer of clear & this layer is easily scratched. It looks great when it comes out of the wrapping but after a little bit of use & normal wear & tear, it looks like hell in a few months.
