no 12volt anywhere past the starter

I am puzzled by this...My buddies 54 bel air has a problem that I need some answers for. After parking it on night, with the lights on. He awoke to find no power anywhere...solenoids in the doors, headlights, stereo etc. The car runs two batteries and alternators. One seperate system for the air bags and compressor. One system for the rest. After replacing the cooked Battery. there is no power 12 volts. There is power leading into the solenoid but none after it. The fuse panel..which looks more like a telephone junction box from the sheer amount of stuff this car is running...oh yeah...no pwer at all anywhere???? Grounds are all intact (I think) the fusable link has been looked over. It had a problem once where it lost power to the distributor. I just took a fusable link and ran from the box to alleviate this and get us home. A scary trip I might add in a chopped, true flame 54 bell air with no wipers...on a rained out cruise night. 22's are a hard ride..lol. After this it would backfire when you put your foot in it. I am stumped and there is nooooo diagram for this wiring. And I need a headlight harness for an 80 camaro.

Check the power at the alternator, if there is nothing there it has to be a fusable link or broken wire.

A 10 second street car, eh!
SBC 409, through the mufflers, on DOT radials, you know, like a street car should be.

It sounds like a fusible link problem to me. They can burn out inside and not look bad. Jump it with another wire to see if you get power again.

If still no power... Check all of your grounds and be sure the battery terminals are good and that there isn't a battery shut-off switch that you forgot about.

Ohm the wire from the starter to the external voltage regulator after disconnecting the bats. Then, if good, ohm to the fuseblock.
When fixed, rip it all out and do it smart.

Nothing more annoying than when a someone grabs me at the track and says I'm having an "issue". I get my meter to help and find a birds' nest of wires and crimped terminals. I'm to the point now that when I see that I just apologize and walk away.
