4 bbl carb

does any one in here know where i can get a good 4 bbl carb that will work well with the stock 350 in my 80z? What would be a good price that i should expect to pay for one as ive seen on ebay ranging from 50$ all the way to 400$ and would it be something i could install myself over the weekend or should i find someone who would know more of what thier doing?

Personally, I'd go to either Jegs or Summit and get one. Guaranteed and qualigy carbs for under $400.

Yeah, it's a toss-up.

If you just have a stock car, a Stock QuadraJet will work fine, as long as it's in decent condition. I see them for $50 on Ebay.

For me, I'd take the chance, you might get lucky.

Maybe even post here in the swap forum, I bet someone has a 4barrel just laying in the corner they don't want.

I'd go with something like this. It should bolt directly on your intake manifold and work with a minimum of hassle.

A few years ago, my Son needed a new carb for his 80 Z28 and we bought a similar one from Summit. We bolted it on, and only had to adjust the idle speed. It has run perfectly since.
