Question 68 Steering Column Swap Question

The 68 Camaro I just got needs a new steering box, so I'm thinking of swapping the non-tilt steering column for a tilt column. What other parts do I need to change - rag joint, etc? The car was originally a 6 cylinder car, but now has a 350 in it. I have no idea what is actually in it steering component wise.

Here is a thread about using one from a 2nd gen. Sounds easier to set the right one or get an aftermarket one.

Here is a rebuilt correct one from Ricks 1st Gen

Thanks! I had tried searching on camaros.net, but didn't find as much detail as I thought I needed.

It took me months of lurking here before I joined and longer yet to ask a question, I really didn't want to be a newbie again over there.

I left you a post in the other thread. You're a post-pro! You won't n00b for long!

Summit appears to carry the ididit columns for less than the rebuilt OE ones from Ricks. I like the OE better, but you will see a lot of guys use the aftermarket stuff.

From what I gathered reading, there seems to be a definite trend in advising people to use rebuilt GM vs. the after market ones. Now I just have ro get the rest of the stuff down, lol!
