I have always liked 70-73 RS and because I own a 72 I have to vote for that year.

ran 20-50 Castro. Changed rearend at 360,000.
So my vote is the 1980Z28

74 Z followed by 70-73 years. The wraparound window just looks ugly IMO...

75 Rally Sport
All this talk about favorites, I recently bought the very same car a freind owned back in high school that has been stored away for 20 years and only has 56000 miles on it. When I bought it I thought of it as my "last Camaro" purchase because of sentimental reasons. Why do I see no talk about this year and make "at all" "anywhere"? Is it that nobody liked this model or because there aren't many of them? It's a silver and black 75 Rally Sport 4 speed car. Back in the day when it was new I thought it was the coolest car in town and still do.My freind installed an L88 hood, a set of Keystone Klassics and Hooker Side pipes (pipes are since gone) but everything else is still in good shape.

I believe the 79 has it. There are aspects of the earlier cars I do like - in particular the rear of the 70/73, but the 79 was such a 'sorted ' factory car. Its a dinosuar that had no right to be produced in that form in the late 70's. It shares a huge amount of its design with cars much older, but is complex enough in the way it is put together to be a real challenge for any restorer. When the difficult things are overcome, its a joy to maintain for the DIY enthusiast - you can grease wheel bearings, set timing, fiddle with carb screws, adjust camber, caster, toe-in, toe-out, there's precious little you can't component rebuild. The handling, road noise levels and creature comforts are just more elegant than the early 70's cars. Ally wheels, electric heated rear windows, some great options for the day.
In 1980 they introduced part computer, 81 whole computer. Component rebuild went component replacement. Fiddling got ever more difficult unless you went non-stock.
The 79 is bang on the crossroads - old enough in design to be a dinosaur, new enough in use to be a new car; complex enough to be challenging but maintenance wise a good hobby tool. One day, the world will wake up and see this.

I would have to say my year which is 81, but only because it's grown into my soul. I like all years except 74-77 and 82-92. Other then that I'd like to get a 98-02 as my next but I might be getting a 69 within a couple of weeks. if my ex co-worker can talk her boyfriend into selling it.

70-73 mostly for the rear window, chrome bumpers, and round tailights, I also prefer 66-67 novas, and 67 chevelles but the coolest are 79-60 biscaynes. (there I guess I've shown my age)
