'78-'81 IROC air dam pix/vendor?

I have been thinking about getting the '78-'81 IROC air dam/chin spoiler since I got my Z28 on 10-24-78! I have a few questions (if anybody out there has put one on their Camaro).
#1: What is the vertical ground clearence (height), and how far forward from the spindle CL is the farthest-most point? (I race my Z28; it must meet NHRA/IHRA specs for height, AND must be 'loaded' onto my trailer! I don't wanna 'bust-it-up')
#2: Can anybody 'post' a pix here, for me (and others) to look at?
#3: If I decide to get one, where can I still 'buy' this piece?
Thanks in advance, '3Z29' RACING!!!

Are you sure you've really thought about this- maybe you should give it some more time to really consider your options. haw haw haw

Sorry, can't help with installed dimensions/height. Also-unless someone has just recently started manufacturing them again- they have not been available new for a number of years. However- they do seem to pop up on ebay (used) fairly often.

The Z was my daily-driver for 2 years; as of Dec '80, it was my 'weekends-only/bracket-bomber', until Fall of '84.
Parked to start-up a business, I began racing it in again '90. Thru '93, it won 19 of 97 races in 3 states, two Points Championships at two different tracks (in two different states; 1 an 1/8-mile, the other a 1/4-mile track).
Parked again after the '93 season (I bought a 'skinny-car', which didn't last long...), it 'sat' thru a divorce, until a test-n-tune last Fall (first Reaction Time after 8+ years in it was .508!!!).
Now, after the divorce, I need a 'change' as I begin racing again, and I'm contemplating paint, flames, & the IROC air-dam.
Somebody out there just GOTTA have a pix.....

Here's a couple of pictures. Mine's the original A&A piece, but JB does make a fiberglass replica.

I think the guy that installed one of JB's pieces is Bpestilence. You can check out pics on his site I believe.

MotorCity...lol! Thanks dude, I love my baby too. If it had a bigger hole I'd....never mind. The paint is actually just a basic single stage black enamel, that's it. Nothing special, just lots of Bodywork. Can you believe I haven't driven it in over a year now? I've been deployed, so it's sitting in a barn on jackstands. Oh, I miss it so!

I hope he's not talking about this company:
http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/spoilerfrt.html
Several people have tried to do business with them and never got answers or were told that even though the items are shown on their site, they don't carry them.

JB did good work. I trimmed the piece a bit, affixed it with screws and filled the seam with urethane putty. When painted you'll think it was the way they made it.

more at:

http://www.bpestilence.com/restoration.htm

P.S.: The air dam has more clearance than the stock Z28 spoiler. As long as your nose doesn't drag right now it won't.

Careful going up steep driveways, though. It extends the length of the car a few inches.

JB is in here somewhere. Try doing a search in the Swap Meet section.

And if you want '74-'77:

http://www.usbody.com/70-81%20Camaro.htm

They have one for $269.
