1970-81 camaro sway bars.

Does anyone know if their is a part number for front sway bar for SS 396 camaros 1970-72. I know all the other part numbers (#3964557 is 1 inch bar for Z-28 & F-41 suspensions. #3965651 is 11/16 inch for front bar for front standard Camaro. I think #356534 is for 1977-81 1 1/8 inch.) I have owned 2 1970 SS396 cars. An L-78 I sold 13 years ago and the L-34 I have now. I measured the bars in both of those cars and it came out to be 15/16 inches, not 1 inch. Could it be that Chevrolet is just rounding off the measurement and calling it 1 inch instead of 15/16 inch. Boy Chevrolet was real concerned with handling back then a 15/16 inch front bar & skinny 9/16 inch rear bar for SS396. Trans AM's had 1 1/4 inch front & 7/8 inch rear bars.
Thanks John Gialanella jr.

There was no 11/16" front bar used. The standard front bar was the 15/16". The SS396 got the same one, and if you ordered F41 on any standard Camaro, the front bar stayed the same.
So, the part number for the standard bar is the same as the SS396 bar, and there should be lots of them available from cars that have been parted out.

1970 camaro front sway bar.

Mark.
I h ave had 2 replies. Both you and the other guy misunderstood. I bought my second SS396 1970 Camaro june 2012 and it came with front sway bar that is not 1 inch, but 15/16 inches in diameter, I just wanted to know if the 15/16 inch bar is also called 1 inch (chevy rounding off 1 inch because their are not 2 separate part numbers for front sway bar. I have a 1 1/4 inch front bar from trans Am that I might put on.

No, Chevy didn't round up. The 15/16" bar was the standard bar used with either no rear swaybar, or with the 9/16" rear one while the 1" bar was the Z28 bar used with the 11/16" bar. There were only 2 different front bars in the early years of Second Gen.
