Chuck, This is a pic of a NOS set of rear shocks I have. They read 187 Day of 70.
They look black in the pic but are really gray. The part number I got off a original owner cars shocks was 3192282 I know the assm. manual shows 3192293 I was laying under the car getting the number but pretty sure it was 2282 it was a 70Z.
Hope this helps!!
Jack

I still have my original shocks in the garage. I forgot to write down the part #s but its true that they are julian dated. Mine were marked front 50-70 rear 056 70. I'll look up the #s when I get home.

I was able to help go over a 70 L78 at the GM Nationals this year that was supposed to be unrestored and I believe for the must part it was. The Part # for the front shocks were 3192132 and the rear was 3192293 dated 02270 still had ID stickers but they were unreadable.

I'll assume that the "unrestored" L-78 is Eric Reifsnyders from Reading,PA. Car is low mileageex race car that Eric pieced back together....Chuck Sharin/Seattle

The part #s on my original F41 shocks are:
Front 3192131
Rear 3192292
I thought that all F41 shocks were suppose to be the same on all models, with only a difference in sway bar sizes in the Zs. I guess the shocks may have been a little different too.
