Wiring help please
I posted this in the electric forum but wasnt getting a lot of hits. I have a 81 camaro that I just put a 1980 wiring harness in due to PO butchering wiring. It had no lights, gauges, heat in it, like I said it was butchered but it would crank and run. Now that I have installed the 1980 harness in it wont crank, and no lights. The only plugs plugged in are the 2 on the steering column for the switch and the long one on the column I am assuming is the blinkers, flashers, horn ect... and the long plug into the fuse panel. I am going to post some pictures of some of the plugs for identification. At this point I need Crank, Run, And Lights. Any help is Appreciated
This one has some big wires and I suspect this is going to have something to do with having no power. 76Camaro told me the big purple wire was for a straightshift car.
 This I have no idea
Just a picture of the fuse block.

Another angle of the first one.
So the second one is where my fuel gauge wire is gonna be? I am using aftermarket gauges for everything. I just need the fuel sending wires for the fuel gauge.

Just throwing this out there because I dont know for sure, but I think that first plug does have to do with ignition. I say this because I know the starter has a purple wire just like that running up through the firewall right next to the steering column. It might tie into the neutral safety switch somewhere in there as well.

Yea I think it does also, the other end of the purple wire is just hanging at the moment, 76camaro told me he thought it was for a 4 speed car.

Isn't it near the steering column mounting position for an '81? Sort of looks like it in this pic you can see the purple wire...

I have the two plugs that go into the ignition switch plugged in. This is not one of them. Looking at your picture if you look at the left of the steering wheel those colors on that plug look like these, What is that plug?

Sorry, that's not my picture or car. If it's not for the ignition switch I'm at a total loss. I tried.
I'll just add, could it be for a cruise control option?

If you find out what the plug is for let us know. I'm really curious.

The plug in the top picture goes to the ignition switch on the bottom of the steering column, there are 2 plugs on that switch that interlock with each other. The orientation and order in which you plug them in matters so you'll have to look at the 2 plugs and figure out which they plug in. Hope this helps good luck.

I have the ignition switch plugged in already with the 2 interlocking plugs. This plug has locking tabs on the outside. it is not the ignition switch. I am wondering if it might be air conditioning, or heat?
