Hey,
Good stuff from many posts for me here. I am going to build the frame jig first so I can install my AM rear subframe, then steal a little of all the ideas shared here to build the rotisserie, using 3 x3 and 2.5x2.5 stock. Looking forward to the what you figure out will work for the actual car mounts.
I have seen front firewall mounts that go to the torque box and to the top cowl bolt holes. Not sure is all that is needed.
Keep going, we are watchin'

I'm diggin' it. I can't wait to see it finished. I've wanted to buy one, but I can't see spending $1200 on something I may not use after I'm done with my car, but for $400 in material, I wouldn't mind building one.

Thanks, I still have to do some metal work on my car before I get it on the rotissierrie....I planned on taking off at the end of the month to try and finish all of the metal work then start on that stage.

I'll post pics when I do

I'm still making speaker kick panels, just closing on a new home due to close 5/01/2013. I have a few sets ready to ship so feel free to ask me about that.

I haven't seen this on new posts or anything .
I got to say what you have done is an inspiration to me. I hate paying 3x as much for something like this when i know I can build it myself. mbaey someday that money tree in the backyard will come in and I wont have to.
But ,for now .

hey where did you wind up getting the materials?

I got most of the materials from harbor freights locally (engines stands and hydraulic ram). Order some of the metal from metaldepot.com

And got a 20 foot section of 2 x 2 steel tube locally.

Alll done !

Got the car on and rotated, turned out pretty good...it spun smoothly until it was almost at it's vertical point...then it got heavy lol

All in all I'm happy with it...and I have about $400 total invested....hopefully I can re-sell it and recoupe my investment when done

Looks nice! Congrats - way to go! I saw one that looked old on CL here in MN and the guy sold it to someone that drove down from Canada to buy it for $500!

That is awesome, very nice job. You'll be able to sell it for a profit I'm sure.

Just want to update, I LOVE having a rotisserie I'm able to do stuff without breaking my back.

Right now I am working on the lower rear quarter and rockers and tilted it at an angle to accomodate me.I can rotate it by myself now with very little effort

You def can get spoiled

Thanks for the post. Good work. You saved me a lot of effort. I found 2 engine stands for sale locally, used some 2x2 I had and bought some casters at tool store in town. I spent $180. Not as nice as yours but it works and now I can get my camaro off my lift and use it to work on my truck.

cool, that's all that matters

I've been using mine lately to work on my rear lower quarters, I removed the pins and can rotate the body up or down on the fly depending on where I am at on the quarter section....basically it lets me sand with my inline sander standing up

If the body was on the ground I would be at a weird angle laying down to do this
