70 camaro 12 bolt.

Hi all. New to the site so sorry if i posted this in the wrong spot. I picked up a 70 12 bolt this week. I know it doesnt have the original gears in it. It has 5.13s and not sure if posi or spool in it (or so I was told). My question is what would the value of this rear end be? I dont have a second gen camaro so its not really of any use to me. Don't want to be overpriced and dont want to sell myself short. Ill have it here in a day or so to run the axle codes to see what it came with as far as gears and date. Thanks for the info.

5:13 gears are about the most useless gears ever made, but the 70 12 bolt housing is a one year housing used only on 1970 Z28 and SS cars along with Pontiac Trans Ams. The housing is valuable to anyone needing it, but remember that it will take probably another $1000 or so to put it back to decent gears and posi for another car.
I have no idea of value.

depending upon assembly date and axle codes and condition $375 - $900 for an axle that needs taking apart and reconditioning to be used in a restoration. Codes ? Date? pictures?

both good previous answers.
I would clean it up a bit, take good pictures of housing and codes, strap is to a proper pallet for shipping (you can buy them for $30) and take more pictures. I am sure you can get $500 plus shipping for it. When you get the codes and pictures send them to me. I might just take it off you hands.
For reference I bought a date coded Dana 60 with the correct BOM number with a good posi unit in it for my 70 GTX on a pallet as described for $500. I asked the guy to pull the axles and throw the in a dumpster with the brakes to cut on shipping weight.

I got the 12 bolt from him. Turns out its from a 69 camaro with january of 69 date code and 3.73 posi BU axle codes. Gears have been swapped to a 5.13 and an open carrier thats welded. The leaf spring perches have also been moved out so it would fit into a 70. Sucks they moved them but they did a really good job. Welds looked perfect. And the rear end is very clean. looks almost brand new. I know this is a 2nd gen camaro site but any ideas on this rear being its a 69? Couldnt get the pictures i took to upload to photobucket but when I do I'll post pics if anyone wants to see it. Thanks guys

Since I'm not up on the measurements on both, the 69 rear might only be able to be used in a 70's car that has had the innerwheels moved in. But I'm pretty sure you won't have a problem selling it.
