some people say the 72 used the small buckle 73 style and some people say the big buckle early second gen . the console NEVER changed in 72 so how did the seat belts . the console was an integral part of the stowage of the buckles ( female ) in 72 , but not in 73 . i would say the big buckle that stowed in the console ????

Thanx boardog, I appreatiate the pics, but somthing tells me that my 72 RS had retractable shoulder belts. What makes me believe that is the large square [plastic covers that came with the car when I bought it.there were no belts to speak of, but it came with these plastic coverrs with slots in them and another pair for spare. My lap belts have a spot on them for the shopulder belts to clip onto them but there are only one belt ont the floor as there waas two seperate ones in earlier years (hence the two holes on erach side of the console.my lap belts have a hard plastic cover over them, and couldnt be put into the side of the console if my life depended on it. Any ideas?
My car definately didnt have coat hooks.

all camaros from 70 through 73 had non retractable shoulder belts . the only difference was weather there was 1 female buckle or 2 . the single buckle female was late 72 and all of 73 . the retractable shoulder belt was introduced in 74 and was integrated into the lap belt . so a 72 could have the 2 female belts as the earlier cars or the 1 female as the 73 but no retractable shoulder belt

there are 2 types of shoulder belts ( there might even be 3 as 70 might have its own male buckle ) . the first is the type that uses its own female buckle ( the 2 female buckle style ) and the one that clips into the male lap belt and uses 1 female buckle ( the 1 female buckle style ) . this is the 73 style . is this the style you have ?

How much? Do they come with the chanels that when folded up, they sit in? All I have is a metal inside roof with no headliner to speak of.I need everything to finish it off. If this stuff is too expensive, I will go with 4 point harnesses.

again it depends on what syle female buckel you have. if you have 2 female buckles you got 2 clips on the roof , 1 metal , 1 plastic . if you have the 1 female buckel you got the plastic channel

the 1970 did not have the same set up as a 73. the 1970 used coat hooks, a plastic clip and a piece of elastic to hold them in. btw i would not sell a good complete set of 72 belts for less than 350.00. the holder will run 50.00 or so per side if it is in nice shape
