Finally something new

I got my 799 heads back from the engine Beauty salon. I got a full p&p and big valves installed. Sean @ s&s did the work I didn't know whether to install them or wear around my neck with all that bling. Also got my intake in. Slow slow process. I installed the heads and intake , to boost my interest back up. http://s865.photobucket.com/albums/a...-25-27-788.jpg http://s865.photobucket.com/albums/a...-45-29-151.jpg it is a wip. And my first build so everything is going slow. Speed m5 is going to do some dipping for me my I take top, my rims and valve covers once I am at that point. Just thought I'd share.

You going to need a cowl hood for that intake to fit?. I've wondered how tall it is

I was originally going to go with a turbo, but ended up milling the heads 10nths. I know I won't reap the full benefits from the intake but that's fine. I am going to put a shot of joy juice to her though. As far as the hood I have the mold made I just haven't popped a part yet. that's what I started with I posted here sometime ago. I move slower than most I am a composite tech by trade. So after working with the crap allday I find it difficult to come home and work with and enjoy it. Anyway the hood and trunk will be red carbon, I am going to go with a satin black, with red carbon stripes. I am going to let speed m5 go at the wheels and intake and valve covers.

That's a good looking hood! Any chance you are going to market any parts to the public. Im sure carbon parts are out of my price range, mostly because my 72 is DONE ( if you don't believe me, ask my wife,LOL). I just thought its a good looking hood and might be a way to get some of your time and money back on the molding work. Again, great work!

Yes I plan on selling the whole hood and just the scoop. I have the mold completed, I am looking to pop afew parts around September. I am tied up currently trying to get afew large contracts going. After that I'll have some free time, well I think speed m5 is going to have me make him a console lol.

That is an interesting hood. Front shot?

The side of the cowl looks a little uneven in the picture though

Yes that pic was when I was roughing it out. I git it to a certain point then sent it to my super anal friend who's been doing glass work before I was born. He tweaked it dailed in clocked and so on lol. I have a bad case of A.D.D. anyway it's been dialed in prior to me making the mold. I do need to copy the underside of the hood though. I want to make astrong enough hood to use the regular hinges, it's possible.

If you made that scoop from scratch, you are very talented/skilled. I just learned I'll never be a good TIG welder since my hands shake too much. Maybe I should take up composites, lol

I actually used house hold pink and blue foam. Carved and shaped it, then covered it with painters tape, since the styrene in polyester foam melts that foam. I have been doing composites for about 12 years now I wish I could sit behind a desk but I can't keep still long enoigh to accomplish anything. If I can do composites anyone can. Thanks for the complement. Here's a 580 class car I lowered the wheel openings and flared for a friend. I wouldn't have done it on a ford but it's a bbc in it lol. I also lowered and raked his scoop. He had low visual in the left lane prior.
