Camaro Gasser??

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has ever heard of or seen someone dropped either a tube axle, straight axle or ibeam into their camaro? My buddy did it with his 72 Nova and it looks pretty menacing. Handles like crap on the street but puts out some respectable et's with his 350 in it. Just want to see around if anyone has ever come across one. I have a dropped I-beam at my disposal, so maybe if the measurements are right, Ill give it a try!

Actually,I posted in another tread about a local race car that I bought the pro nose off of. It started life as a 1970 Z that was never even titled, and was raced in Modified production and the gas classes for years and was converted to a 74 body style. The car had a dropped axle front clip on it. It was a somewhat popular conversion in the 70's and was sold as a kit. The difference is that you would never know the car had an axle in it. The front was "in the weeds" low,and the setup was actually designed to be lighter then the stock setup and have a lot of caster built into it. When I saw the car at the junkyard in the early 90's the parts for the axle were gone, the car was quare tube from front to back with what looked like a 3 link under it. It was black and white and actually looked a lot like what Grumpy's 70 looked like when Richie Zul owned it.

But I am thinking that you wanted to know more about a jacked up into the sky gasser axle, not one that sat in the weeds. I think the setup I am speaking of was so low that the axle sat on top of the frame rails and the engine was set back behind it.

I know what your getting at with the different heights. If I do decide to do this Ill most likely go with the 1 piece clip. I love the mixed responses you guys are throwing at me. Ill be updating you guys as soon as I can get working on it. The weather isn't holding up here yet =/

Been wanting to turn the 55 Ford into a Gasser,

Here is a kit that had some good review from what I've read.
