Very nice car!! What color red is that? It seems a little darker than the normal red.

Thanks Amargari,
The red is a PPG color called "Matador Red". We color matched the paint we used years ago called Sherwin Williams Mack Truck Fire Engine Red (Medium). What's nice about this color is that it reflects lots of blue, giving it a nice look on sunny days.

79_camaro_tx,
Front:
17" x 8", 4.75" backspace
245 mm x 45% AR x 17"
Rear:
17" x 9.5", 5.5" backspace (note that these rims must be custom-made to get this backspacing)
285 mm x 40% AR x 17"
I got this combination from member N-Memory and a couple of other guys here.
And yes, the rims are by American Racing, the Torque Thrust II model. Tires are G-Force T/A KDW by BF Goodrich.
Note that the ride height shown in the pictures is a little high both front and rear. There is a lot of weight yet to go on, so that will lower it.

Ditto
I am kinda partial to the early seconds. If ever paint a car red it will be that red!
wheels and tires look great too. what did the rear Custom rims set you back?

If memory serves me well, the rear rims were $316 each from e-tire.com, and they turned them around in about 2.5 weeks.

That is a great shade of red.

If you two did that yourselves and that was your first paint job, I'm flat impressed. Even if it wasn't your first, still looks excellent.

Thanks everyone,
Don't get the wrong idea... Brian and I had somebody do the paint for us. We did engine / suspension work (anything mechanical).
Both of us tried our hand at "restoring" this car back in 1988 in the same colors. It looked good for about 5 years, then salt from NY and MI winters took their toll. This time around, we decided to hire a pro. Neither of us was too anxious to do a restoration again... lots of bad memories!
As I look back, I'm glad we did the first restoration ourselves, and even more glad we went with a pro for the second restoration!
