Best way to remove original insulation?

I pulled most of it off where is goes behind the sail panels but there's still a ton of fuzz and glue all over. I saw a can of 3m adhesive remover, would that work?

The 3M adhesive remover works somewhat, but you have to soak it several times and work on it with a putty knife repeatedly to get the stuff off. If the underling paint isn't a factor lacquer thinner works better, have good ventilation when you use that stuff.

Why are you worried about some left-over factory fuzz under those panels?

You can use a knotted wire wheel on your angle grinder. Wear a faceshield and some cloths. Those little wires can bury themselves a half inch deep into your skin

so you will not have any panels on at all? Going for the race car look? You're really not clear on whether you just want to remove the leftover "fuzz", or ALL of the undercoating as well. If just the fuzz then a wire brush as previously mentioned.

If no panels, then I'd go this route with the exception of just using a wire wheel, not the knotted wire wire (my preference). It's what I used on my entire undercarriage. That knotted wheel is SUPER aggresive.

Chisel set to scrape the stuff off is what I used.

Then I POR-15'd it all.
