C5 or SS camaro brakes

I just got a set of front brakes off a 02 Camaro SS from another member, for the low low price of nothin. (love this place) My question is can these be installed the same way as a C5 set up? Is it worth the effort or should I just go with a C5 set up? I could upgrade to the 13" later. I know there are other kits out there from Baer and Wilwood. I'm not interested in aftermarket. I plan on power tour and other long distance trips, so if something fails in BFE I can get parts rather easy.

The rotors are 12" and the calipers are aluminum w/twin pistons. So I would guess they would perform a touch better than a 1le swap.

Other than machining my stock rotor and the bracket deal to bolt the caliper on, is there anything else I would need? Does anyone make a kit for this? Would the brackets from a C5 swap work? I can get those all day on ebay. I am going to research this a little more but thought I'd ask here first.

The bottom line is, toss them on the shelf or toss them on the car? Sorry for all the questions but I don't ask for help very often.

The C5 Corvette brake swap works very well. I would recommend it to anyone, the cost is low in comparison to other setups and the parts are available to make it almost a bolt on upgrade. Do not really waste your time with the 2002 Camaro brakes. The only thing that can be transferred over is the calipers alone.

Ed Miller sells complete C5 front brake swap kits. I bought his setup 3 years ago IIRC.
HUUUUUUUUGE improvement over stock......love it.

You'll need spindle modifications, but he sells those as well.
I wanted no headaches, so I bought everything through him complete.

Brakes, I just don't want to guesswork any machining......my life and kids life is too important to cheap out on it .

What about the rear. What is a good set up for the rear to match the fronts.

Ed Miller also sells the rear C5 brackets and kits.

Here's his site.
http://www.flynbye.com/

You can price shop / compare and piece it together yourself
or buy a kit from him or Tobin @ Kore 3 which is also popular.
Tobin is a brake genius as well. http://www.kore3.com/

The most complicated part of doing the rear brakes is getting a parking brake.
For that, most people just use S10 rear disc conversions for cheap.
There's plenty of threads in this section to find part #'s and lists.

The LS1 rear brakes work well with the C5 fronts, S10 brakes should be a good match as well.

I have a whole 35 bucks into shipping.

I read the sticky and I'm sold. Now if Christmas would come and go so I can spend money stuff other than gifts. What to do with the LS parts though?
