454 Correct Intake manifold

I have a 1970 Camaro with a 454. The existing Elderbrock intake manifold deck height is 5.25 inches which is too tall and gives me inadequate hood clearance. Installed are the lowest engine mounts w/o sitting the headers on the frame. The intention is to use the existing stock hood and hide the 454 underneath.

Does anyone have any ideas of what to to use for the lowest deck height yet have a dual plane? The heads are large Oval ports.

thx for the help
Camaro Joe

Iron Pancake manifold found on stock 454s, or look for the low rise aluminum corvette style. They are not cheap tho..

Thx again Tallman. I will call Year one to see if these will fit large oval ports and see what deck height is.

The old edelbrock torker with the carb sitting twisted is the lowest height aftermarket intake I know of.The torker 2 is also very low. With real bigblock motor mounts and a dropped base filter it should go under the stock hood.

I think I have one sitting around that I can measure. It is for sale $100. I know I have it,I just gotta make tiime to stop at the garage where it is at.

Dave,

thx also for the lead. I will look into trying to obtain this particular intake. Will this fit the large oval port heads? Is it a dual plane intake?
