Gentex Mirror wiring ??

Guys, I'm kinda stuck here and I'm hoping SOMEONE might have the proper wiring Diagram or info for these wires.
I've been googling my ass off to no avail. NONE of the wiring diagrams out there match what I have on my 16 pin
connector. Yes, I've seen the one's on 12Volt.com and you'll notice my wiring doesn't match the one's they posted,
OR any other one's online. Any GM Service techs maybe that know what goes where......

This mirror came out of a 2004'ish Saturn Vue.
It's a Gentex 015607, Autodim, Compass, Temp Display mirror.

I'm EDITING THIS with the finished results for pin outs.

I have TOP ROW - Right to Left from REAR of plug
PIN #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 = empty.
PIN #6 = Lite Green / Black stripe [AMBIENT TEMP SENSOR 12V]
PIN #7 = Gray / Black stripe [AMBIENT TEMP SENSOR GRD]
PIN #8 = Black [GROUND]

BOTTOM ROW
PIN #9 = Lite Green[REVERSE DIM INHIBIT]
PIN #10, 11, 12 = Empty
PIN #13 = Yellow [12V SWITCHED POWER]
PIN # 14, 15, 16 = Empty

Just an FYI too, the GM 70's wedge base is too narrow by roughly 1/4 of an inch.
You need a 1" wide wedge base, and they sell this adaptor .....don't buy it, it REALLY doesn't work well at all.

Save yourself the headache that I had, and just buy a new 1" wide wedge base for the windshield.
They sell them at NAPA but you can't Google for it for some reason.
NAPA Item # 730-2023 - Chrysler / VW Mirror Kit.

Just apply 120v either AC or DC to pin #4. After the smoke clears, your problems are gone.

Hey Ace,

Hope this helps, here what I found on AllData for a 2005 Saturn VUE AWD with a 3.5l V6...

As Far as I can see you WILL NOT use or are NOT EQUIPPED with pins 11, 12, 14, 15 They are your OnStar controls...Which leaves you with five wires

Black=Pin #8=Ground
LT Green w/Black tracer=Pin #6=Ambient Air Temp Sensor Signal
Gray= Pin#7=Ground for Ambient Air Temp Sensor
Yellow=Pin#13=Switched 12v
LT Green=Pin #9=Backup Lamps Supply Voltage

Here is the diagram from the rest of the Backup lamps Supply Voltage Circuit #24:

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! It matches up perfectly.

If you are ever in Chicago brother, first round of shots is on me.
NOw I can go delete all the other forum threads I created on TeamChevelle, Lateral G, etc.

OH SNAP.....QUICK QUESTION.....

Do you know what PIN#7 Grey = Low Reference is ??
I don't know what that would be.....or what that would hook up to.....hmmm.....

Low Reference is another term for Ground: Hence the Ground Fork pointing downward or "low"...

Ahah.......so that's probably the 2nd wire that goes to the Ambient temp sensor in the front grill.

Thanks alot mah brother. Yeah, I have the sensor.....it's only $3.27 off www.gmpartsdirect.com
Let me go pull the info off my email of data I gathered and post it . hang on....

Quote:
Autodim, Compass, Temp
Used on most 2000-2006 GM vehicles premium trim
Yukon, Silverado, Tahoe, Malibu, Impala, Vue, etc.

2007 uses newer model mirrors with even more features...

All the mirrors that have a compass require the Magneto that is a separate block box. < Just make sure the box is attached.

Temp sensor with bracket GM PART # 15047946 $13.21
Temp sensor by itself GM PART # 25775833 $3.27

www.gmpartsdirect.com > FYI - I was told you won't need the bracket.

When you are trolling Ebay for these, MAKE SURE they are including the Pigtail.
If they don't you're going to have to spend $25 MORE to get one off Ebay.

Now I'm realizing that they had this info on 12Volt.com in ANOTHER thread I saw before
but I didn't realize it was backwards.......dee dee dee.....

OK, I picked up one of these mirrors, but it doesn't appear to have the temp on it, but the temp wires and sensor were there. Do I need to hook the sensor up? What purpose does it serve if there's no temp gauge on the mirror?

It's a simple oversight to determine the difference.
Are you sure it doesn't have the temp on the mirror??? Here's how you can tell.....

I'm only using these pics for the MIRROR portion, not the housing.....
The NON-temp mirrors have a different etched area out that's more rectangular.

The Temp included mirrors have a etched area shaped more like a square.

If your etched out mirrored area looks like picture #1, don't bother with it.
BTW My Camaro's has been in and functional now , everything works no problem.
I gotta do the 442 one now, cuz I can't STAND the stock mirror location or mirror.

Thanks! Guess I've got the non-temp model. Not bad for $6.78 on half-price day!
