4 speed hump location measurements
Ok got a 4 spd hump from a member (Chris - thanks again) and now i want to weld it in.
The question i have is I need the measurements from all 4 sides to properly place it over the hole in the tunnel.
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Rick

Psssst, Rick........ I think your 78 has a factory 4-speed hump in it.
It's out there in your garage.

Curious question - if your Camaro has factory auto tranny and you want to install a manual tranny but you don't want the manual console, do you need to have the 4-speed hump to have the factory look or is that only needed when you actually install a manual console??
Sorry for the hijack

You still need the hump even if you don't run a console i believe. The 71ss I have in the upper garage is console delete but still has the hump.
Hope that helps

Ya need the hump with or without a console. Without a console the boots screws to it.

Don't ya hate that?
I ordered some new interior hardware because I couldn't chop the ice away from my storage shed to retrieve the parts I already own.
(Due to poor planning last fall..... All my ice removal tools are INSIDE the shed. )

Here you go, hopefully it will help (I did this a few years ago for somebody else - I measured two sides, not four): http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2373747/2

Yes, thank you. I will likely put a manual tranny in my 76 and figure I'd ask. I will probably go without the middle console - just like the looks of the shifter w/o a console.

Rick,
Check out the below post...#8...I provided measurements fore and aft to what should be fairly consistent locations.
